James P. and Alice R. Burns Saint Louise Fund

In loving memory of Russ Burns, his family and friends honor his legacy through the James P. and Alice R. Burns Saint Louise Clinic Fund, established with the Ascension Saint Thomas Rutherford Foundation. Russ, alongside his wife Allison, created this fund to celebrate the lives of his late parents, James and Alice Burns, whose compassion and dedication to others shaped the values they held dear.

The fund’s primary mission is to support the work of the Saint Louise Clinic, a vital resource for Middle Tennessee's most vulnerable and at-risk residents. The clinic provides high-quality, affordable healthcare services to those who may otherwise go without. Through this fund, grants will help meet the needs of clinic patients, offering services such as dental, vision, and hearing care, as well as access to durable medications, health condition coaching, and behavioral health support.

Additionally, the Fund may support programs for the clinic’s UT Family medical residents and staff, such as training to better serve uninsured individuals facing financial, emotional, and spiritual struggles. In keeping with Russ’s and Allison’s vision, the fund also ensures enhancements to the overall patient experience, empowering the clinic to provide holistic care to those in need. Russ’s generous spirit, combined with the values of his parents, continues to impact the community, leaving a lasting legacy of compassion, care, and support for generations to come. Memorial donations in his name will help ensure that the Saint Louise Clinic’s vital work continues and expands, touching the lives of those who need it most.
